I write in the margins of my life.

Between brewing morning coffee and steeping sleepy tea, I write poetry, stories, and essays. I am the mother of two girls and the wife of Mitch. We live a simple, creative life under the pine trees.

My first book for children, Love Love Bakery: A Wild Home for All, started as a Kickstarter and is due out in July 2018.

I am a picture book enthusiast and I see it as my responsibility to amplify diverse voices. I want to write a mountain of books that children remember forever.

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, English minor, Dallas Baptist University, 2009

Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, emphasis Children's Literature, Penn State University, 2013

While earning my graduate degree, I began writing a YA novel and got hooked on writing for children and teenagers.

I love to work as a developmental editor for children's books. I help people tell their stories in a captivating and honest way that children enjoy and respect.

Work with me.
